Welcome back!!  We are all excited to start a new year and hope to have awesome learning experiences in 6th grade!  This year we will be using an online learning tool called Schoology.  My link will be posted here soon!  I look forward to meeting you all this year!

Welcome to Mrs. Card’s 6th Grade Math Class!!

Dear Parents and Students,

I would like to welcome you to the 2020 – 2021 school year! Already this year we have had so much excitement and change and I want you to know that I am here to help you in any way that I can. We will be using a computer program called Schoology this year. The materials we cover in class will be added to this program daily. If your student is in my class or learning online at home, they will have access to the same material. This will often include video and audio recordings where problems will be explained. For online learners, we will have many chances to use the face to face Zoom program as well so that we can make sure everyone is keeping up with class.

I am looking forward to getting to know the students and having a productive school year. We will grow and learn together through our new programs.
In math this year, we will focus on the following areas:

        *Ratios and proportional relationships
        *The number system
        *Expressions and equations
        *Geometry
        *Statistics and probability
*All previously taught math skills will be reinforced

Please encourage your child to give their best each day. We will all work together to make this educational journey a success!

Sincerely,

Rae Card
