About the Teacher

Education
My name is Katie Box, and this is my 13th year at LCMS!  I was born and raised in Southaven, Mississippi. I am a product of Desoto County Schools, and I am so excited to be working for a district that I truly believe in! 

I graduated from Southaven High School with honors in 2004.  I then went to Northwest Mississippi Community College-Desoto Center on an academic scholarship, and graduated in 2007 with my Associates Degree.  I continued my education at Ole Miss, where I graduated Cum Laude in 2009 with my Bachelor's in Secondary Education-Social Studies. 

I absolutely loooove History, which is why I chose that as my area of focus.  My hope as a teacher is to instill that same passion for History in my students!

Bio
I am married, have a 5 year old daughter named Karlie, and a 6 month old daughter named Kora Beth. We also have a tabby cat named Champ!  :)

IN ORDER TO ENSURE ACADEMIC SUCCESS IN MY CLASSROOM, STUDENTS NEED THEIR HISTORY INTERACTIVE NOTEBOOK & PENCIL EVERY DAY! THEIR NOTEBOOK CONTAINS EVERYTHING THEY NEED IN CLASS INCLUDING: NOTES TAKEN IN CLASS THAT WEEK, ANY HANDOUTS GIVEN, AND HOMEWORK.

IF THEY FAIL TO BRING THEIR INTERACTIVE NOTEBOOKS WITH THEM TO CLASS, THEY WILL RECEIVE ZEROS FOR ANY GRADES TAKEN THAT DAY.
